Actually that is NOT true. 14 year olds CAN consent to 19 year olds in Utah. They just can’t get Married. (I know it is retarded) Re read the part about her visit with Warren Jeffs when she was 16, he was counciling them to try to have a child, HE HAD NO IDEA they were already trying! Not sure how a 14 year old girls rapes an adult male. How can you know if someone else is happy? People may appear happy on the outside because they’re smiling. That does not mean that they are happy though. By law, a girl as young as she was could not consent. So, even if she was not forced into sexual intercourse, which was not the case according to her book and testimony, it still fits the definition of rape because she was not old enough to give consent.

Read Elissa’s book. She was forced to marry a man who was abusive to her at 14 years of age. He hit and repeatedly raped her throughout their marriage. She begged to be let out of her marriage to Allen for years! Lamont, on the other hand, was kind and loving to her, something that her husband Allen never was. Elissa admits in her book that Lamont got mixed up in the meth that was coming into the FLDS community and that her relationship with Lamont began before she left Allen.

I really feel for these women and children.
