People against the FLDS have been programmed by an immoral mass culture. There’s no proof that underage sex or forced marriages occurred but people fall for the lies of a mass media with an anti-FLDS bias. It’s easy, I guess, because polygamy has been demonized by secular humanists. It’s ironic that people call FLDS members “brainwashed” while accepting the immorality pushed upon them by their own immoral mass culture such as rampant drug use, teen sex and out of wedlock pregnancy.

These are baseless accusations. Jessop, for example, owned several businesses. You should quit getting your info from the liberal media and find yourself a reliable source. Fergy, do you have kids? If so, are you married and do you know the father? if you aren’t married then you cannot really take care of your kids. Kids need proper homes not single or teen parent-headed ones.

Why does the government have to support the families in th Eldorado cult? The cult community got its food from government food stamps. Besides the fact that children were being groomed and married off, why should the tax payers of the state of texas have to pay to raise those kids? I’m just getting into Krakauer’s (sp) Under the Banner of Heaven. It’s amazing to me how these people are allowed to defile humanity so blatantly and freely in the United States. So many lives ruined all because a handful of men have figured out a way to exploit women and children without government intervention. kindly allow me to comment. The mormon church itself originated polygamy. It traded
polygamy for statehood. Those who broke away from the mormon church continued the practice. Both Mormons and Fundamentalist Mormons are very loving to their children. Other faiths loose their children to drugs and alchol and the mormons do not refer 2 those faiths as cults. If you want what the Mormons, Fundamentalists,have with their families,then bring your children up in righteousness.Come and see the beauty.

Petro is right. I just saw a special on it yesterday on MSNBC, a credible news source. Years of inbreeding has produced 20 cases of birth defects within the community, where as there are only 100 cases worldwide of such defects.

As a Mom of 5 children, I cannot understand, at all, how these Mom’s can live with themselves. I do understand how they can be brainwashed, but that is what it is. Pure and simple. Brainwashing. I wish I could take everyone one of those “Happy” babies out. Elissa Wall is my hero.

I can tell all of these photos are deceptively put up to try to convince the world how happy those kids were. Child abuse is well known in FLDS communities.
@Raynee13: The media actually defended these people for a while. I watched the coverage the whole f***ing time. They only released some clips of abused kids for credibility reasons.
They had no choice!
But you know something? The CPS isn’t innocent, either! Both sides are guilty of abuse{workers were following orders}.
