The FLDS have a satelite colony in Canada, in British Columbia, in the town of Creston. A city of 5,000 people, the FLDS have deep roots here from the 1940’s and account for more than 1,000 members. Owning businesses here and supporting the towns economy, local officials ignored rumors of abuse and turned a blind eye. In this audio, Rose from the local Newspaper, “The Advance” was asking interesting questions back in 2000. I think after she wrote this story, she soon after moved on.
