This video is one in a series of videos The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released to better inform the public about differences between the worldwide church based in Salt Lake City and the polygamous group in Texas that calls itself the FLDS.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - whose members are often called ‘Mormons” - placed a series of video interviews on its web site to illustrate the differences between its own members in Texas and members of the isolated polygamous group.

The Texas Mormons featured on the video interviews include a director of community theater, an orthopedic surgeon, a Justice of the Peace, a former Houston Oilers quarterback, a news anchor and a young woman with aspirations for medical school.

Reading the FLDS text and listening to sermons on cassette by Warren Jeffs, its easy to understand the time, the violence and the church doctrine of that day that led to this awful day in history. Blood Atonement as an early Mormon doctrine, can be heard in the modern FLDS Warren Jeffs audios. One of the faithful taking his children to a Salt Lake City shopping mall, to show his children the face of EVIL, suggesting GOD will do these Mall patrons a favor by taking their lives, and sweeping this earth of its inhabitants. This was the climate and thinking of early saints, that led to mistrust and conflicts with that days gentile. Warren Jeffs was living and teaching the old law, taking Brigham Young & Joseph Smiths teachings all literal. In the Jeffs audios, he has rejected the modern church for not being true to this earliest church doctrine, accusing them as apostates who rejected the truth!

I remember Paul covering the “end of the world” prophesy of warren Jeffs the FLDS polygamous prophet in September of 2000. In 2001 he joined the AG’s Office.

In fact there are over 100 different LDS sects, and they are disagree.

What is the major differences?

1. The CoJCLDS always complain how people persecute them and say they are not “Christians”. But then the way that they verbally bash FLDS and say that they are not “Mormon” is very hypocritical.

2. The LDS of the CofJCLDS still believe in polygamy and it is still in their doctrine in D&C Section 132.

If LDS want to be taken seriously as “Christians”, it should recognize all Mormons as “Mormons”.

You can’t have it both ways. If the LDS are very far removed from Christianity, yet still have a few things in common and expect to be called “Christian” then they should be curtious and loving enough to not deny the FLDS the title of “Mormon”.
